For those of you that missed the hangout: Synopsis:
* Thank you to Tim Waters for bringing back the machine from the dead. * Connor McManus has volunteered to work on temporal reasoning to link "historic:era" with "key:start_date" when rendering tiles with a specific temporal key. * There was discussion of current approaches to rendering tiles. Mikel Maron's year specific rendering is a good start but the ideal would be ad-hoc rendering for any date. Part of Jaime Schatz's internship will be to work out a url scheme to signal the tile server what period is desired. Managing the tile server cache is going to be a problem but that can be mitigated using a reverse proxy. * Susanna Ånäs / Rob Warren will check on importing a set of 'pre-made' time periods using wikidata to be used in a drop-down menu when entering data. * Tim to setup a github for OHM just to handle project management; this is currently at https://github.com/OpenHistoricalMap/openhistoricalmap * Rob to send Susanna paper on archival descriptions of maps. * Jaime to keep working on rendering / ID integration with Rob's help. * Jerry Skeb has been looking into private library sources for maps. * Vector rendering will be investigated by Jaime and Erik Theise as a means of lowering the server load. -Rob _______________________________________________ Historic mailing list [email protected] https://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/historic
