i added the following yesterday:
three defunct ovals:
Burden Lake Speedway (off Garner Road in Sand Lake, NY)
Pine Bowl Speedway (off Snyders Corner Road in Sand Lake, NY)
Route 66 Speedway (at junction of NY 351 and NY 66 in Averill Park, NY)
these are easy as there are no objects in OSM that are related;
highway=raceway
with start and end dates.
two road courses:
Watkins Glen 1948-1952
Watkins Glen 1953-1954
These courses both used public roads many of which still exist, although
some are no longer public. for the time being they don't reference the
underlying roads in OSM. does OHM have a standard for referencing OSM
objects? i know there are a couple of options out there.
the third Watkins Glen road course will put a very fine point on this
as it shares significant racing surface with the modern Glen road
course.
once i have an idea of how OSM references ought to be done, i'll look
at a proposal for the wiki page.
