It's not that its too much XML, its that its confusing and loose (and same could be said for Ant, I humbly admit). I'm still not savvy with HiveMind enough to know how to configure things the way I want without having to dig around and find all the right tricks to use - especially in Tapestry where there are services and hooks and contributions that I have to dig to understand.

As opposed to Ruby, the Java typing does kind of get in the way, so
this ends up being a bit more typing than even the XML.  However, it
does get the services implemented with less XML and less Java
reflective access.  You do lose autowiring.

So ... how much do we hate XML?  I think HiveMind is pretty spot-on
for the configuration side of things, but for services, maybe a little
more code is a good thing?

I agree with the sentiment expressed about the Groovy builder. A JavaScript builder would be cool too.
