SHAHRIZAT IN WONDERLAND ?
The BN MP for Pantai Dato Shahrizat Abdul
Jalil was
closely associated with Brader Liwat. This is
not too
surprising because Shahrizat hails from Penang -
the hometown
and homebase of Brader Liwat. She was also
closely aligned
with some mamak type korporat cronies of
Brader Liwat
who are also Penang or Kedah based. The
number one names
on this list are the Sapura Group (not so
much the
father Tan Sri but more the son Shahril
something who is
the MD of Sapura now). Others in the list are
more mamak
types who hail from Kedah and are associated
with banking
and other interests..
Not only were they big time with Brader Liwat
and gang
but they were also spiritually mentored by Dato
Harun Din -
a melayu bomoh conman of the highest order.
Thursday nights
(or malam Jumaat in the malay lingo) would be
spent doing some
weird prayer session after another under the tutelage
of the bomoh
man.
When Brader Liwat got arrested Shahrizat and her
mamak korporat
cronies were totally taken by surprise. They were
prepared to
support Brader Liwat for a challenge against
Mahathir but
they did not expect Brader Liwat to be
arrested. But
cronies being cronies they quickly pledged
allegiance to Mahathir
at least for the purpose of lip service.
But talk going around is that Shahrizat Abdul
Jalil is not
fully out of Brader Liwat’s grip yet. For
reasons best
known to herself she is not 100 % sure of
where to put her
loyalty. This may be complicated by the fact
that the PM is
SERIOUSLY considering retirement after the
elections. And the
people in place after the PM may possibly be Tengku
Razaleigh or
even Tun Daim. If this happens then Shahrizat
and her
Mamak Gang may need to have their wheels
seriously
realigned. If they don’t do it right, they may get
run right off
the road. Budu and tempoyak does not mix well with
‘teh’ tarik.
Shahrizat holds a key parliamentary seat which is
the melayu
majority Pantai seat in Wilayah Persekutuan.
Shahrizat holds the
key in Pantai because she is the most popular MP to
ever
represent the constituency since the seat was
created. No one has
any chance of winning Pantai from Shahrizat – not
even if Nik Aziz
or Wan Azizah stood in Pantai. Shahrizat’s
support in Pantai
is solid. This is due to Shahrizat’s almost daily
presence in
Pantai looking after her constituents – power cuts,
landslides,
charity, floods, squatters problems and a hundred
other things.
(If all the BN MP’s worked as hard as Shahrizat –
there would
not even be any ADIL or PAS around). If Shahrizat
secretly suports ADIL,
she can easily sabotage the Pantai seat anytime she
wants to.
It would be a pity if Shahrizat were to be
confused about her
loyalty. It would also be a pity if the PM does not
address
whatever fears or doubts people like Shahrizat may
have about
their future. Shahrizat is a good person.
But Shahrizat must remember not to fall into the
same rut as
Marina Yusuf. Marina Yusuf has made a career out
of picking the wrong
horse. First she supported Tengku Razaleigh. Now
even Tengku
Razaleigh has returned to the fold. Then Marina
decided to back
Brader Liwat – another loser. Yet her tower
Marinara is at
last seeing completion – though we do not know who
the owner
is now.
But Shahrizat and Marina are thousands of miles
apart.
Shahrizat is a superstar in anyone’s camp. Marina
is not.
Shahrizat has to bear in mind that Brader Liwat
has got into
this mess because he had too much interest in
other
people’s backsides. The simplicity of life is
that one needs
to mind only one’s own backside.
