Saya menghadapi masalah dengan Windows Media Player.
Tiada sound yang keluar ketika playback, tetapi tiada
masalah ketikan memainkan lagu-lagu mp3. Ketika
startup saya mendapat "intro sound"nya. Jadi saya rasa
tiada masalah dengan sound card kerana tiada masalah
dengan applikasi lain. Saya menggunakan Windows 97
(bukan 98 atau 2000). Saya telah mengikut
diagnostic oleh Microsoft.
Berikut adalah apa yang berlaku:

CAUSE
This issue can occur for either of the following
reasons:
i. Your computer does not have a sound card, or your
sound card is not working properly.
ii. Another program is currently using your sound
card, so it is not available for Windows Media Player
to use.
NOTE: This cause is specific to Microsoft Windows
NT-based or Microsoft Windows 95-based
computers.
iii. The hardware acceleration is set to too high.

RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, use the appropriate method:
i. No Sound Card Installed. If you do not have a sound
card in your computer, obtain and install one.
ii. Sound Card Is Not Working Properly
Verify that your sound card works correctly by testing
it in another program.
iii. Another Program Is Using Your Sound Card
If you have a sound card in your Windows NT-based or
Windows 95-based computer, verify that no other
programs that need your sound card are running, and if
programs are running, quit the other program or
programs.
iv. Hardware Acceleration Slider Is Set too High
If the hardware acceleration slider is not set to
None, move the Hardware acceleration
slider to a notch closer to None. To do this, follow
these steps:
Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel,
and then double-click the System tool.
On the Performance tab, click Graphics, and then move
the Hardware acceleration slider
to a notch closer to None.
NOTE: After you move the slider to a different notch,
test to see if the issue is solved.
Click OK, and then click Close.
Click Yes when you are prompted to restart your
computer.
