The Left Hand Knows What The Right Hand Is Doing
Dr. Mahathir stands before the audience, his right hand waving in a
guarantee of justice, while below the podium his left hand holds the
leash that leads to the necks of the judges, the prosecutors, the
police, and the Umno ministers.
He calls on the world to observe democracy in Malaysia, his right hand
driving the point, but below, his left hand prevents any change in the
laws that prevent any practice of democracy while he is PM.
What a poor, inept magician he has become! An inept ragamuffin of a man,
speaking into the glass, while a thoroughly bored and disinterested
audience patiently waits as his megalomania displays itself.
He cannot look into their faces, because he knows they are not
listening. It is a charade for the virtual world, where a lone diplomat
from Palestine is given recognition as "the Diplomats of the World"
(who admire Malaysia) in the unread media.
How long can it go on? My talks with senior ministers indicate that none
of them like him, even in his own department, and all are jockeying for
position. Mahathir trusts none but Rais Yatim, and the irony is that
Rais Yatim has ambitions of his own.
