Boy's legs severed after being hit by Komuter train
KUALA LUMPUR, Wed. - A three-year-old boy had both his legs crushed after he was hit
by a KTM Komuter train at Kampung Kelantan in Pantai Dalam here today.
Mohamad Anas Rosli, who is fighting for his life at the Universiti Malaya Medical
Centre, is believed to have trespassed onto the tracks while being accompanied by his
aunt, in the incident at 11.30am.
The boy went into a coma following the accident and his condition is reported to be
critical. It is learnt that surgeons are attempting to save his legs.
Passers-by said that upon seeing the train approaching, the woman attempted to
hurriedly cross the tracks illegally but Mohamad Anas tripped and fell.
The train driver is believed to have applied the emergency brakes but his attempts
were in vain. The train was travelling from the city towards Port Klang.
Brickfields police chief Assistant Commissioner Koh Hong Sun confirmed the incident.
Koh said the train driver lodged a police report at 6pm. However, the family of
Mohamad Anas had yet to lodge a report, Koh added. Mohamad Anas's father Rosli Abdul
Rahman and other family members are keeping vigil at the hospital.
