Mahathir says govt has
no ties with Taliban
Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad said the country has no ties with the Taliban and that the Afghanistan envoy in Malaysia is representing the Northern Alliance, Bernama news agency reported. Mahathir said Malaysia also has evidence that some Malaysians had teamed up with the Taliban and returned home to mount terror activities to topple the government under the guise of setting up an Islamic state. "As such we are also uneasy with the Taliban as well as Osama bin Laden," Mahathir said. |
