Minggu lalu sebuah helikopter terhempas dan 7 askar Amerika mati.
Kali ini dilaporkan sebuah lagi yang jatuh selepas seminggu, kali
ini 2 askar Amerika yang mati. Yang menjadi misteri, siapakah yang
menembak kedua-dua helikopter itu? Diberitakan bahawa salah sebuah
helikopter ditembak oleh seorang kanak-kanak. Ini kerena semasa
kejadian itu, kanak-kanak Afghan berada hampir dengan helikopter
yang ditembak. Askar Amerika menangkap kanak-kanak itu, oleh
kerana bimbang tindakan Amerika itu tidak rasional, maka kanak-
kanak itu dibebaskan. Saya rasa, memang ada kanak-kanak Afghan
yang mahu membalas dendam terhadap perbuatan kejam Amerika menge-
bom perkampungan mereka. Inilah akibatnya, kanak-kanak sendiri
bersedia berperang dengan Amerika.

Two American marines have been killed in a military helicopter crash in
northern Afghanistan. Five others were injured in the crash, two
critically, a military spokesman said.
The helicopter was flying from Bagram airbase, north of the capital Kabul,
to resupply US forces at the time of the crash.
It is not clear what caused the accident, which happened in clear weather.
But US Marines spokesman Lieutenant James Jarvis said: "Right now, we
don't have any indication of hostile fire".
An investigation is under way.
Cause unclear
"The crash is in mountainous terrain, high elevation," Lieutenant Jarvis
told reporters. "It is too early to tell the cause of the accident," he
said.
The identities of those on board would not be released until next-of-kin
were notified.
The BBC's Mike Wooldridge, reporting from Kabul, says the crash highlights
the risks still involved in the military operations in Afghanistan - now a
combination of security support for the new government, and the continuing
pursuit of al-Qaida and Taleban members.
The CH-53E Super Stallion came down in a mountainous region of northern
Afghanistan at about 0730 local time (0300 GMT).
The specific location of the crash has not been disclosed.
The worst single casualty toll for US forces in the Afghanistan campaign
came in January, when all seven Marines aboard a refuelling tanker were
killed in a crash near Shamsi air base in south-western Pakistan.
The cause remains under investigation.
In October last year, two marines died when their helicopter - which was
supporting a special forces raid into Afghanistan - crashed in Pakistan.
They were the first combat-related American deaths in the US-led campaign.
