An extremist Jewish organization has urged the Israeli government to launch a
World Trade Centre-style attack on the Ka’ba, Islam’s holiest mosque, on Feb-21,
the main day of the Hajj. According to the PPA’s correspondent in London, the
Israeli government has refused to support the plan saying such a plan is not
feasible at the government level.
An Arab diplomatic source who learnt about the murderous plan, originally
suggested by U.S.-based Jewish Defence League (JDL), has taken up the matter
with his government and has also informed several other Muslims diplomats in
Washington.
According to the diplomat, U.S. officials, who are also aware of the
suggestions, told him not to take this threat seriously. The JDL is outlawed in
the US as a terrorist organisation.
Muslim diplomats in London believe that any attack against the greatest Islamic
symbol faith and unity could enrage Muslims all over the world and may spark off
a new wave of uncontrollable protests and disturbances.
"Perhaps this what the enemies of Islam are looking for, to destabilize the
several powerful Islamic countries and pave the way for an intervention by
foreign elements to capture strategic assets there," a Muslim diplomat told PPA.
Late last year the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation charged the two top
leaders of Jewish Defence League, Irv Rubin and Earl Kruggel with conspiring to
bomb a mosque in Culver City and American Congressman Darrell Issa’s Office.
Both suspects face a minimum 35 years imprisonment. An Indian fundamentalist
organization, Hindu Unity, also based in America, is campaigning for the release
of two Jewish leaders.
