Unfortunately, even the daily digests are frequently not of much help, because many posters reply to long threads without chopping off the stuff that is no longer relevant from the bottom. There are days where those of us subscribing to the "daily" digest receive many such messages, and each mailing has only a few lines of new text in them, a couple of messages back of context, and a huge pile of waste that is no longer relevant to the conversation's present state.
