All SBLive's are Full Duplex Soundcards under all operating systems by
default. Full Duplex means you can talk to a person at the same time they
are talking to you kind of like a phone call. SB PC512's and lower can
handle Full Duplex, but that option is under the type of software. These
cards are Half-Duplex in nature. So there shouldn't be a problem with Half
Life and Voice Comm on SBLives. I to run a SBLive Plat 5.1 and it is Full
Duplex by Default. Its a problem in the coding of the software. Valve quit
addding Shit to Half Life and take it back to 1016 when Half Life actually
worked Half-Way decent even for those modem players. Each update is pushing
customers away. Make one Massive Update instead these pittiful incremental
updates that cause more problems. If you have a problem with a certian
video card and wall hacking with OpenGL Drivers talk to the Video Card Maker
and settle it there instead fing it up for other people who can only run HL
in D3D Mode which is pathetic. If I have a card that can do OpenGL by all
means I want to do OpenGL, why? Well it provides a better crisper image and
better game play that is smooth and good on your eyes.
