Just out of curiosity, what are your experiences playing on servers with maxrate less than 6000? I've never noticed a difference, but I don't have a lightning fast connection, either. Qwest DSL adds 30-40ms of latency per trip. It's ironic, but if I use GameSpy or Kali to ping servers, I can get better pings from other servers than I can get from my own! In order to ping my server, it goes out to qwest and back, and that adds like 30-40ms out, and 30-40 ms coming back. Good old qwest.....
Makes it hell to play Q3 - there seem to be a lot of 50ms pingers playing Q3, and even with DSL they run circles around me. Or maybe I just suck.... ----- Original Message ----- From: "Lythium" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Saturday, October 06, 2001 11:37 AM Subject: RE: Cable connections > > You can easily setup your filter rules to filter out anything between a > certain range as well.
