If you are using NAT (i.e. have an external router or firewall) you will not see your local server in the browser, you should see it in the lan config.
The reason is the master server will send you the routable ip address of your server. The browser will send a packet to that IP address, but the NAT rules of the firewall will not translate the address properly.
