The website is wrong. Whoever wrote that information was just plagiarizing
what they found somewhere else. You do NOT need to open 27030-27039 (TCP).
If you do, nothing will use them because those are ports on Steams end, not
your end. Opening these accomplishes nothing.

You do NOT need to open 27000-27015 (UDP). Just open the port you want your
server on.

You optionally need the steam friends port, but I don't remember if that is
1200 (UDP) or not. Nor do I remember if port 1200 is a port on the server or
a port on Steam. I do know that you do not need port 1200 to get your server
working.

You know what is really funny, one of the routers out there, Westell I
think, or maybe Netgear, has a pre-defined Half-Life server port forward
setting, but it uses port 27015 TCP, not UDP. It's hilarious that they
actually include that as a preset port forwarding, when it's obvious they
never actually tested it.
