The tv_name variable has no effect in the server list.
Attempts to set this variable in the console result in an "Unkown
Command" error.

I have the tv_name set on both the following servers:
70.85.25.119:27020 is the game server.
70.85.122.151:27020 is the proxy.

Add these to your favorites and note:
they both have the default SrcTV name.
The game server shows no slot information (it is set to 1)
The proxy shows the default slot information.

Alfred: IMHO The tv_name "defect" is not important until the SrcTV
servers show up in the Spectate list (and the filter works).

either the password options don't work or we don't know how to use them.
(hint hint Alfred)

First thing to do is make sure you can join the game SrcTV using
defaults on the TV variables.
Once it works then make the changes you need and turn on the proxy.

Set the configs up w/o passwords with a max of 1 spec on the game host
and defaults on the proxy.

Also, last night when I was trying to make this stuff work, for some
reason the SrcTV was active on my game server but was unreachable by any
steam client . This morning I was able to add the SrcTV to my favorites.
Then the proxy started working too.

Must have been those VALVe elves burning the midnight oil....

Hey,

I cannot seem to get the relay proxy to work for source.

Heres how im launching the relay server (Windows):

srcds.exe -game cstrike -console +tv_relay 139.134.253.57:27535
(As per the documentation)

The *game server* is running on that host, port 27515. The SourceTV
port for
that game server is 27535 (20 ports higher than the game port).
Should I be specifying the game server port, or sourcetv port of the
game
server im trying to broadcast, in the tv_relay variable? I am currently
specifying the sourcetv port for the game server in the above command
line,
as per what I can tell from the documentation.

For the SourceTV Relay server, the following options are set:
tv_port 28535 (1000 ports higher than the game servers sourcetv port)
tv_enable 1
tv_relaypassword "relaypassword"
tv_maxclients 128

On the gameserver, the following sourcetv settings are set
tv_port "27535"
tv_password "joinpassword"
tv_relaypassword "relaypassword"
// Always dispatch view clients to a proxy server
tv_dispatchmode 2
// We only want to allow the SourceTV proxy to connect, no TV clients
tv_maxclients 128
tv_enable "1"

Currently, the gameserver spawns and has the sourcetv client join the
game,
so that part is setup correctly.

On the SourceTV Relay server, the following is output from the console:
Console initialized.
Attempted to create unknown entity type event_queue_saveload_proxy!
Game .dll loaded for "Counter-Strike: Source"
maxplayers set to 32
Network: IP 139.134.253.57, mode MP, dedicated Yes, ports 27015 SV /
27008
CL
Connecting to 139.134.253.57:27515 ...
The server requires that you be running STEAM

tv_status
--- SrcTV Status ---
Online 01:59, FPS 0.0, Version 2349 (Win32)
Local IP 139.134.253.57:27020, KB/sec In 0.0, Out 0.0
Local Slots 0, Spectators 0, Proxies 0
Not connected.

Why is this server not connected? I launched it as per the documentation
(see above).

Additionally, if the gameserver has a *join password*, do I specify that
anywhere in the sourcetv relay server? What if the gameserver's sourcetv
client has tv_password set, do I need to also specify that on the
sourcetv
relay config?

To relay correctly, does the tv_relaypassword on the gameserver have to
match the tv_relaypassword variable on the sourcetv relay server?

Can someone explain to me how to get this working, because right now im
stumped.

Thanks
- Plasma
