Yes, and given that the parsing style is limited (line based) this may solve you a minor problem. The only really likely time I could see it being an issue is if someone accidentally (or on purpose?!) uses some kind of text-flattener on their cfg - i've also seen some nasty ones generated by a few scripts.
If you wanted to take it further you could look up the unix commands (available as binaries for windows) grep, awk, sed. AWK is actually a simple pattern programming language, but they are all commonly used for this kind of processing and are more powerful than windows for loops and find.
