Also from reading their forums, it seems they had an alpha build of a new project called "PanelDaemon" - a web interface to firedaemon, though since hurricane katrina hit it's not available at the moment, since their website was hosted out of new orleans.
One of the new features in v1.8 is capturing and closing all application error popups for either a specific service, or all popups.
