I, like thousands of other people, have just been upgraded to the new STEAM client, and while I like the new design (I liked the old one too for its simplicity) I had hoped to finally see an option to change my account name.
For those not in the loop, in "the early days" of STEAM you had to provide a valid email address, which doubled as username and contact address. Thankfully, this procedure was later changed, but all of us early adopters are stuck with an (in my case long time defunct) email address as the username. I know it has no practical meaning, but to me it's a constant reminder of something long gone and, to be honest, I never liked having my email address as a folder name. Surely VALVe can do something about that. Shouldn't be much harder than changing either the password or the contact email address, even though a local folder has to renamed, and ClientRegistry.blob has to be regenerated (the last thing *never* happens... :P) Sorry to "abuse" this list with my question, but the chances for it getting noticed on the STEAMpowered forums are next to nil, and even less for getting a proper answer to it.
