I am running reserve slots using mani and not an issue... are you sure you configured the reserve slot +1 greater than the number playing on the server. And are you allowing the reserve slot to fill or only a slot to enter and then move into one of the other slots? Of course players not in the reserve list will when the server fills be kicked or even can be routed to another server.
16 slots + 1 for the reserve, I currently run. The reserve slot is there but I do not allow it to fill.
