Its down at the moment for me too, it seems to do this every so often,
i'm not sure if they have a problem with their host or what.

If you leave it a few hours or a day or two it will most likely be
back up again, has been every time this has happened to me anyway.

v1.0.0.50 is the one i'm using at present, i've not checked for a
little while though so there might be a newer version available
somewhere.

BugFix: /connectpassword without parameter was not working
BugFix: HL/HL2: Max slot flickering on servers with reserved slots
BugFix: CoD: Friendly fire display was corrupt
CoD*: Added mod detection
Added game protocol number display in server details view
Detection of Quake 4 Demo servers
Using new algorithm to switch between long and short display on the
addon column at server details view
BugFix: HLSW could freeze while establishing a rcon connection if auto
update status is activated and the server is offline
Added support for GameSpy protocol with challenge verification (fixed BF2
query)
Added some more HL2 addons
Known Bugs: BF2: On v1.3 the displayed ping is incorrect. It is
displayed the double valve.

I think, although it may not be complete and is from a 3rd party
website, if you trust 3rd party downloads you can upgrade now,
although i can't find any i've used before to recommend.

Altho if i d/led it from a third party website, if it was virused or
something as i run Linux it wouldn't effect me but i can still pass them
on (poor windows users) The only reason I'm on the windows list is my
host runs windows. so i think i'll wait till i can get on the hlsw site.
oh , and that for posting the change log btw

I've now tried 8 times to download the dedicated server for
"The ship" every time it gets part way down and quits with:
Connection Reset, WinSock Error 10054 "Connection reset by peer"

All usual tricks tried i.e. deleting ClientRegistry.blob and
InstallRecord.blob all no go.

Gets a few more files and then does the same. Never usually
have any problems but this has been going on for 2 days now.

Content servers need a reboot?

The servers its talking to are:
87.248.208.117:27030
217.64.127.2:27030

sv_lan =3D3d 0 is an invalid command. dude learn to read. the command you
were told to use was

*sv_lan =3D 0*

To be fair i think the task you have undertaken is about 3 steps up the
computer skills ladder than where you are. but FYI if you go start,
contol panel, network connections, then right click on your network
device and click on status on one of the tabs it will tell you your ip
address. you have to check that address is the one you have assign to
the port you wanna forward, check www.portforward.com for more info.

Also it is important what the model of your linksys router is. It's
usually on the sticky label on the bottom. if your ping has raised since
you had a play with the settings that's a bad thing. Ping is all about
the lower the better. If the game you are running is a hl1 variant, on
my network if it was more than 0 i would be worried. For hl2/source
based games on my network i would except as much as 10 but it's never
usually more than 5. so you see your values are what i would call
unusually high. And finally if you computers ip address is dynamically
assigned every time you turn your computer on it's ip addy could be
different. so you'll want to find out how to make it statically assigned.

hope this keeps you busy for a lil while.

What model of a Linksys do you have? I most likely does come with a
firewall, and turning it off is easy. Browse around the router menu, you
will find it somewhere, it's not hard to find. Turn off the firewall in the
Linksys or your server will not appear on the master list. It defaults to
on, so if you did not turn it off, it is on and blocking your server.

Set sv_lan to 0. Isn't this the default? I don't have an sv_lan entry in my
cfgs, and my server works fine. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think
that unless you are wanting a lan server you would not put a sv_lan entry in
your cfgs.

What port are you forwarding? udp, tcp, or both? I forward UDP 27015 and
27016 only. No other ports. Server works fine.

This is my setup:

Centel DSL -> Westell 2100 modem in gateway mode -> Linksys WRT54G -> Server
box.

I forward port 27015 and 27016, UDP, to the server box. 2 ports because I
run 2 servers. I have firewall turned off. I start server with

hlds.exe -game gearbox

That is all. Server runs, is on master list, and has players. Ook's Steaming
Pile of 2343 crap maps - Fast Download! found at OoksServer.no-ip.info (it's
a gearbox or OP4 server). My OZ server is at OoksServer.no-ip.info:27016

The Linksys has an external IP of what my ISP gives me. I set internal IP
range to 10.0.0.1-10.0.0.50 (because it's a carry over from my Cisco days,
and it's easier to type then 192.168.0.1). I have a Netgear wireless router
connected via cat5. DHCP server in netgear is OFF. IP for netgear is
manually set to 10.0.0.100. Clients connecting to Netgear via wireless use
the DHCP server in the Linksys. Works good, I don't have to do anything to
the Linksys to get this to work. Firewall in Netgear is off. I have both of
my girls computers connect to it via wireless, and they play on my op4
server all the time.

When you connect to your server from a box on your network, what IP do you
use? If you use your public IP that your ISP gives you, you are probably
going out your router->modem->comcast land and back again. Ping could be 50
or worse. You should connect to your internal IP, if you don't already know
this.
