You should do it through an ingame browser and yes that means that you wont need to download all the music but you are gonna need a constant stream of music and you must also have a licence to play the music aswell

It's a virtual dj program for source I picked up about a year ago. The link for it doesn't work anymore so you can get it here http://www.mda-oldravers.co.uk/vdj.zip I believe it's set up to stream from the server, but is written in php So could be told to play mp3s from a different web server if needed. I seem to remember you set up a link in webshortcutlist.txt to vdj.php and it then shows you the contents of the folder and allows you to choose your music.
