So I'm putting a new machine together to replace an older one that is quite aged. The plan is to run 2 boosted 100 tick 12 or 13 man private servers, one on each core. I'd have to upgrade the motherboard and ram as well.
I'm just curious if there is much importance as to what kind of chip I get? X2? Core 2 Duo? Xeon? Opteron? I've been looking at an X2 5600+ from AMD, but maybe there's something better out there for not too much of a price difference.
