we have show the same results Saint.  We can't find a pattern to the 
timeouts either.  On our servers things can go fine for a while then it 
will play up.. but not all.  Even servers that have just been rebooted 
can have this happen when changing map to 2fort after it's booted.  On 
one of the boxes, there were just 2 servers running (q6600, 4gb mem), no 
other appliations or services apart from FTP with 2 people on 
cp_dustbowl.  They rtv'd the map to cp_well and the server took ages to 
change level stopping at the 'started_map' line in the console, as all 
the others do when it does the time out thing.
