Consider this the exception that proves the rule :) I will add this to the bug list.

Subject: [hlds_apps] Source doesn't follow standards?

I have been looking into this problem being mentioned by users on the HLstats forum.

http://forums.unitedadmins.com/index.php?showtopic=42018&st=0&#entry244748

At the moment I doubt the problem is Source’s fault. However, what I did notice is the sample disconnect log provided by one of the users does not follow log standards as outlined here: http://www.hlstats.org/logs

Sample Source disconnect:

"lazarus|K|<76><STEAM_0:0:xxxxx>" disconnected ("Disconnect by user.")

disconnected” is classed as an event according to the standard.

Taken from the notes on the page:-

Note 3: Event formats may be extended by adding additional (key "value") properties onto the end of the log message. Utility authors should allow for this when parsing. key names may not contain spaces or parentheses (( or )). A value may not contain double-quotes (").

Note 8: Empty properties (e.g. ()) or properties with no key name (e.g. ("foo")) are not allowed.

So according to the standard the current disconnect log message breaks the standard as it does not contain a key name.

Any comment on this Valve? Is it a accidental mistake or a change to the log standard?
