Yesterday I setup a new 7.3 box with the latest kernel. Same problem. I reverted to my trusty 2.4.9-34 and things are great again. I know... broken record, but it works for me (across several machines running P4's, a celeron, an xp 2100 and a dual PIII). All react the same way. I just have to do a --force to get the older kernel rpm in there.
