Well, if you check out www.counter-strike.net it says: CS v1.6 Released! -- Monday, September 15, 2003 Counter-Strike version 1.6 is out! There are two options for installing this new version. The first option is to go to Steampowered.com and install Steam and it will do the downloading for you. Or, you can go to Fileplanet and download this file which will install Steam for you *and* the file includes the full CS 1.6 update so you won't have to download it via Steam once installed. -- cliffe
