oh come on valve, you have had steam out for quite a while now, you should know by now that steam updates need a certain amoutn of ressources on your end to deleiver to all thoose folks that are forced to update.
I'm not much for Steam either, but did it occur to you this isn't necessarily an issue of resources? There was a post on the Steam forums regarding a DoS attack.
