Try switching to FC2. Thats what we use for 10 servers, and it works
perfectly.

I have previously run all of my hlds servers on FreeBSD.

I think I'm going to head back that way if I can't fix this problem on
Fedora Core 3 soon. I decided to switch to Fedora because this machine
is dedicated to my srcds processes, and it seemed rather sensible to run
it in a native environment, rather than using the linux_base emulation
the comes with FreeBSD.

cat /proc/mtrr (results)

reg00: base=0x00000000 ( 0MB), size=1024MB: write-back, count=1
reg01: base=0x3ff00000 (1023MB), size= 1MB: uncachable, count=1

Looking forward to your synopsis Ian.

Thanks for your reply. If your all just as confused as I am, then maybe
FreeBSD (my personal flavorite) will be a solution.

I've never had these problems using that O/S.

Cheers,

Owen (hapos)

Drop fedora, run FreeBSD. SRCDS runs excellently on FreeBSD and I can
point you to a tutorial if you're interested. and no this is not a
Fedora is lame flame, but in my expierience SRCDS has run perfectly on
lesser hardware with no issues on FreeBSD.

[ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] Hey everyone,

I'm running my srcds on Linux Fedora Core 3. Ever since I have setup, I
have been getting massive lag spikes.

I am running a P4 3.0 GHz, 1 GB RAM, on a OC-3 line. I have spent much
time evaluating the network connections with my ISP, and with no luck, I
hopefully turn to this mailing list for some answers.

Has anyone else been having these spikes? Is there a known solution?

Please find below my server.cfg configuration:
