Are you using SCSI or IDE?

Hello everybody,
I am new in this mailinglist and I am from Germany, so excuse my bad English
and accidentially misbehaves.
My Problem is the following: I am running a dual barton 2600+ with 2 GB Ram
and 4-5 hlds-servers. debian-woody-distribution with Kernel 2.4.29
(lck-patches for lowlatency, preemptive and 1000 Hz) and smp-support, no
plugins like metamod or cheating-death, secure disabled,
standardserverconfig.
I am getting periodically high-cpu-utilisation and I dont now why (picture
http://www.camorra-clan.net:81/~yama/cpugraph.png). I already tried to use
another kernel, different start-parameters, starting in LAN-mode and so on.
But the hlds-processes go high with the cpu-percentage (10 percent upto 40
percent sometimes) all at the same time without having connected any player.
No other processes are doing anything, there is only running an ssh-daemon,
an (unused) proftpd and a little statistiktool for and some other idling
tools, that are not really important to mention (list of processes and a
copy of top with highusage at the end).
I don't have any more ideas and you can believe me, I tried many thins and
searched at many places for solutions.
My last possible candidate is the filesystem, the harddisk is formatted with
ext3-filesystem. Could this be the problem?
If you need any more information, tell it to me.
Would be really nice, if you could help me with my problems.
Thanks in advanve for your help.
Greetings from Hanover, Germany
