Yes, of course I was joking - that's what smileys mean :-) Well almost joking ... it has been somewhat this way in the past ... with winblows and linux
Anyway, I do have 3 points for Mr. Clegg: 1) ./steam -command list keep doing this until it says "Day of Defeat Source" or something like that (It still doesn't right now) You could write a script that repeats that command and starts screaming alerts when it changes - or better still - starts downloading the new name when it appears 2) How did you get the server list? What were you running to get that list? If you have a client that shows DoD:S what is it? I know DoD will not show that. So either you faked the list or you are doing something that Valve may not be very happy about ... 3) Maybe they are just beta's that were handed out when they shouldn't have been. And the players are using what to play? Probably beta's as well. And you as well ... ? -Cheers -Andrew On Sun, 2005-09-25 at 18:13 -0400, [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: > You have -got- to be friggin joking.... > > /p > > Quoting Andrew Smith <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>: > > > Hmmm, > > maybe they are windows servers, and Valve, after 18 months of > > working on the Windows version, just realised yesterday that > > they forgot to write a linux version ... :-) > > It'll be available 'real soon now' ;-) > > -Cheers > > -Andrew > > > > On Sun, 2005-09-25 at 11:18 -0400, Alan Clegg wrote: > >> I'm usually not one to complain... well, yeah, actually, I am. > >> > >> Here we are, a day before the "official" release and I'm counting 16 DoD:S > >> servers up -- mostly full, but I still don't have any "howto" on getting > >> the > >> code for my own server. > >> > >> Here's what I'm seeing: http://glycol.wetworks.org/~abc/dod_source.gif > >> > >> Help? > >> > >> AlanC > >> -- > >> Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes > >> turned skyward, for there you have been and there you long to > >> return. -DaVinci _______________________________________________ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds_linux
