I take delivery of a new Intel SR2500 twin 5150 2U server newx week for
DoD:S
what distro do you think I sould be putting on it ??

Any hints and tip would be great....

You'd be much better off not buying any 7xxx series chipsets; if
you're going intel, pick up a woodcrest or get amd..

FWIW 7xxx chipsets have too many problems, and HT on those cpu's
causing issues (i think some chipset errata tries to make the HT route
IRQ's)
