I used to have wall protection on my server a long time ago, but found out
very quickly that in spite of very tight controls and tweaks, there were too
many ways to abuse it or take advantage of it or have it just mess up the
game so I removed it and have never looked back.

I got this info from a fellow hl2dm server admin recently:
I ran spawn protection for a while on my server, now you might hear
people saying how good that feature is?...well take it from me...it's
not all it's cracked up to be.
I've taken it off my server ... it's too slow for experienced players
and proved a hindrance. When protected you cannot pick up
      weapons...stops you getting back into
the fight quickly. Knocks your flow all to heck. Just goes to show
somethings are best just left well and truly alone! What sounds good
on paper sometimes just doesn't work.

Of course, milage varies with these sorts of things, you might be happy
with what you get.

Subject: [hlds_linux] Spawn Kill Protection (hl2dm)

Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions on preventing spawn
killing. My team and I have been getting alot of complants from users
about spawn killing and as a team we have discussed putting things in
place to prevent this. I have visited other server and have seen
things that prevent users from killing other users who are just
spawning in. Can anyone give me some insight on what we can do?

Thanks
