Looks more like a kernel issue, rather than a hardware issue.. or even a error with the server_i486.so file...
Have you tried doing a installation of say CS1.6 and running it? And seeing if that errors... to figure out if it's a DOD issue, or a HL1 issue, or a Kernel issue? -----Original Message----- From: hlds_linux-boun...@list.valvesoftware.com [mailto:hlds_linux-boun...@list.valvesoftware.com] On Behalf Of Philipp Reddigau Sent: Wednesday, 11 February 2009 4:41 AM To: Half-Life dedicated Linux server mailing list Subject: Re: [hlds_linux] Server crashes much times. We are using 24 Servers with Q9550 4gb ram 1066mhz 2xsata 250gb seagate. 19 Servers with Q6600 4 GB 800 Mhz ... Some x3550 and some amd's. So more 43 servers have a hardware error? i don't think so :> it must be a kernel failure but no idea wich module is broken. The AMD's have no failures. The servers are running stable. On some servers are non steam games..like ET, Cod 1 to 5 ..they didnt crash too. Only steam servers. best regards, Philipp ServerAlex schrieb: > A general protection fault isn't a normal crash.
