VAC secure mode is activated. quit Sat Apr 3 11:05:35 CEST 2010: Server Quit $ Well I had a machine running FreeBSD 8.0-Release i386, so I figured I would give that a shot, none of the gentoo ports I could see would give me a /compat/Linux/proc folder so I tried Linux_base_F10, I follow all your other steps, the update works fine, but running hlds results in a crashed machine. I think I will give up on doing this via FreeBSD and go the vmware route and install a Linux flavour on that.
