Well, I've gone back to my original install procedure to see if something
would update different and it didn't.

The process, again, is:

wget http://www.steampowered.com/download/hldsupdatetool.bin

chmod +x hldsupdatetool.bin
./hldsupdatetool.bin
type yes
./steam
./steam -command update -game tf -dir .

Why would this give me the wrong dedicated server version?

I'm again getting:

Checking/Installing 'Team Fortress 2 Content' version 144
Checking/Installing 'Team Fortress 2 Materials' version 56
Checking/Installing 'Base Source Shared Materials' version 8
Checking/Installing 'Base Source Shared Models' version 4
Checking/Installing 'Base Source Shared Sounds' version 4
Checking/Installing 'Linux Source HLDS' version 98

Rather than:

Checking/Installing 'Team Fortress 2 Content' version 144
 Checking/Installing 'Team Fortress 2 Materials' version 56
Checking/Installing 'Base Source Shared Materials' version 8
Checking/Installing 'Base Source Shared Models' version 4
Checking/Installing 'Base Source Shared Sounds' version 4
Checking/Installing 'OB Linux Dedicated Server' version 32

Anyway, I've tried both and neither work...I guess I'll try looking for some
debugging tools to figure out what exactly is failing on server startup.

Thanks much,

-Chad
