The annoying problem which still happening and developers don't do anything. We can see HL2 updates almost everyday. With hl1 it's totally different, almost never. The worst part is about the fix, they don't pronounce anything about, don't fix and don't give us any way for a workaround at least. That's sad, but I guess there's nothing to do till Valve releases a new bugless version.
