One would expect that *maps* won't have such an impact that it will crash the client. Perhaps some bad colors/freaky things on the map itself but not that. There are tons of maps out there that people want to play that are older too. It is the same as saying "update came out, all old demo's dont work anymore" you can't sell that imho.
