I thought the patch-2.6.11.x patches get applied one after the other. But they don't.. patch-2.6.11.4 replaces the three previous patches. So anyway, without making a new patch there's no way to avoid the rejected hunks, but the rejected hunks are completely harmless.. except for the Makefile one which is just for appending -grsec to the extra version. The book is updated accordingly.
