Hi. What's the present state of ALFS type profiles fpr hlfs? Are there any? I'm having to build again here and hlfs-20051220 or RHEL is proving an exceptionally poor base to do LFS from.
I'm not a programming expert, but right now I don't like the versions of the lfs-6.1.1-1 (stable) profile either. I feel major changes coming on, of which the kernel headers thing are an early sign. I'm guessing the kernel will be forced into a bugfix release, I am persuaded by some who criticise the linux libc, but don't know if they can fix that. So it's either HLFS (for stability), or install Solaris and start at the bottom of that long learning curve. I need one or the other for this 2 gig package Scientific Linux (=RHEL) is a tad overweight to run for me. -- Declan Moriarty <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/hlfs-dev FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/faq/ Unsubscribe: See the above information page
