I've been able to build a 2.6/uClibc system successfully.  I haven't  
attempt a 2.4 in several years.

In general, the uClibc builds have become quite challenging because  
of the SSP header and linkage issues.  I will collect my notes and  
post a list of the changes I had to make to get the system to build  
completely.  Some of the changes are extremely hackish, but hopefully  
this information would be useful.
