Another alternative is a new strategy, to make the HLFS book a giant hint for LFS. No build instruction, juts notes on how to hardened each package. This means reading two books to build HLFS, but eliminates duplicate text between LFS and HLFS. Like an add-on to LFS.
From my point of view this looks like a good idea. It works with LFS and CLFS, but it can't be automated for ALFS. robert
