The hobo-rapid.js in public/javascript of a hobo app contains code for
handling SelectManyInput behavior (<select-many> in dryml).  What we
have found out so far is that code like below does not work in IE
   newItem.down('scan').innerHTML = selected.innerHTML ..where newItem
is an HTML DIV object which contains an empty <scan> block and the
selected contains the value that is to be placed in the <scan> as
innerHTML.  The down('scan') is a prototype function (see
http://www.prototypejs.org/api/element/down ).  In this case, it is
equivalent to down() since <scan> is the first descendant element.
However, that is not enough.  You have to use the $() on newItem to
make this work:
   $(newItem).down().innerHTML = selected.innerHTML

Here's our question for now:
  Why doesn't down('scan') work in IE?
