I'm not sure about HTTP authentication, as I've not looked at it for
ages, but as long as current_user is set correctly the permission
should all kick in just the same.
Note that the block that you give to hobo_show is just for the
response - the record has already been found for you, so just do
def show
hobo_show do |wants|
wants.xml { render :xml => @category }
wants.html { }
end
end
