Yes, we have a sort of "evil other" to the extent that, as you say above "the spammers are trying to  get in so they can send trusted email to all the people on yahoogroups"

It depends on the definition of evil. If evil includes maliciousness, then the spammers are evil... Bu that is a subjective thing, i think.

To the extent that, as you say above "the spammers are trying to  get in so they can send trusted email to all the people on yahoogroups" , we are not "creating" an evil other. They exist independently on their own.

In this case, no it is not.

There is "helpful" and there is "helpful"

I received two private mails offering up very useful helpful technical information on how to properly go about getting the sender of the mail identified and how to report them to yahoogroups.

You and ts are both capable of offering up that sort of help to a person who presented the scenario i did, but you chose not to offer any technical advice, no concrete steps to take - just "help" pointing to my own personality flaws.

I have to ask why neither of you offered concrete steps a person could take and instead chose to delve into my psyche as a cause.

The people who mailed my privately were helpful - they intended to be helpful and they succeeded at being helpful. You and ts perhaps "intended" to be helpful, but you did not succeed at being helpful.

What is the difference in the agendas of those who succeeded in being helpful and  those who did not? I don't know... maybe the two of you do?

We already have an animated soup can with tmxxine on it...

How about ts does a soup bowl since we already have a tmxxine can of soup?
