Hi Francis,

>So for daily use (word processing, spreadsheet, e-mail, scripting,

LOL - good for you
- someone made the point recently that the biggest computer hardware
company in the world - not Dell or HP or IBM or Fujitsu
- Nokia

Curl is going to be used in the far east for phones and
already has links with Seimens . . .

Do you recommend python? (named after Monty Python - yes really)
I do not like the look of the code but programmers seem to love this language . . .
:-)

What is a microoptical?
Small screen? Direct to eye projection?
We are having a debate about
citizen cards in the UK
- what happens when implants are on offer?

:-)

:-)
Never tried Gentoo (it upgrades to the latest and best through the web)
I did toy with the idea of installing it . . .

Also I rarely use beta or cutting edge software
(I used to always run pre release software
but now a working system is more important than bells and whistles)

Good God (assuming there is such a being and also assuming he is good) - no!
(Shadow does - but it takes too long and is not always successful)

I use regscrubXP
other good programs are crapcleaner
and the very simple

WT Registery Cleaner XP

- you can check out registery cleaners at Majorgeeks.com

>I do it with MSCONFIG, on the Startup screen, but not all versios of MSCONFIG have a
>button there to clean the registry...

that is a good option
you should do a save registery
before any changes
(available in some cleaners)
