A few questions.. I think I am more holy than
geek, nevertheless I managed to remove a worm from my computer this week
going into areas of its entrails (the computer not the worm) where I had
never been before... exciting..
Well done!
Do I keep IE and then have two browsers??
Yes. Keep IE... there are some things, such as
Curl and CurlChat, that run better on IE.
How about all the favourites files , do they
get copied over??
Yes, it will prompt you to import your favorites.
What else do I have to know before I carry out
this dangerous but interesting sounding mission..
It was straightforward to install when i did it. You can read through the
info on the web site if that will give you a comfort level, but i just boldly
went where no browser has gone before - on this computer, at least.
Does it have an accompanying e-mail
program?
There is Mozilla Thunderbird mail - i have had it installed and
configured since early Sprint, but not really used yet. Others i know are
using it.
I just ran Ad-Aware and SpyBot and they found
42 new spyware dingies that came in since the day before
yesterday...sheesh..
The one Lobster suggested this week - Spyware Doctor is good too - and it
has a quick run option that runs pretty fast, much faster than SpyBot.
Good luck and happy Jewish New Year to everyone.

I'm feeling a bit suspicious of Spyware
Doctor.. You can download a 'free' scan... It finds immediately many spy
dingies.. some of which it describes as dangerous.. gives you the creeps ..
makes your hair stand on end...many more than either ad-aware or spybot
found when I checked a few minutes later... BUT... it doesn't remove them
unless you buy ... and it costs 40 euros which is a lot of moola..
very convincing I almost bought it and I might yet, but I want to hear what
some of you may have to say about it.. what keeps a company from running a
scam instead of a scan??? Lobster, are you there??
Love, sam

Hi Sam and All -
Firefox is a web browser that is faster and more secure than Internet
Explorer. I heartily endorse it.
