Hey Joyce are you there in the Boston area???

Yes, in the western suburbs.

My cousin in Portland Maine is going nuts with joy cuz the sox beat the Yankees..

I always say, if you're going to go nuts, may as well go nuts with joy.
:)

People here are very happy about the win over the Yankees. The city seems to have been really caught up in the the past weeks games and after the win Wednesday night, the volume of cars on the road for the morning commute seemed less than half as many people stayed home to recover, it seems.

I am not a big baseball fan - the games seem sooooooo long and sometimes boring when nothing is happening. I much prefer soccer. That said, i am very happy when the lpyal fans have an experience that is so uplifting for them, after year upon year of heartbreak.

I was a six fan for many years before I moved to Chicago and became a fan of the hapless Cubs..

Being a Sox fan is proper training for becomming a Cubs fan, indeed! Would have been nice to see the Cubs face the Sox in the series.

It is very clear from the photos of the bus that you are a suspicious character..
A person could get paranoid these days..

:)  You know, having the police called because of the reflector photos at the bank and the lecture about the bus photos made me wonder about this being the land of the free. I have heard of countries where the government prohibits cameras in places, but had not expected to have it happen to me here on the streets.

But what is worse is what happened after the Red Sox win over the Yankees... Something heartbreaking and sickening and reminiscent of Kent State....

The police got killed a 21 year old woman with a pepper-spray ball (similar to a paintball and touted as being non-lethal or less-than-lethal). The woman was in a crowd of revellers and apparently someone threw something in the direction of the police and it starteled the police officer's horse (yes, we have mounted police here) and another colleague whirled around and just started firing off a few rounds of pepper balls at head level. One of them hit a college student named Victoria Snellgrove in the eye, killing her instantly.

It is senseless and tragic and appalling that this beautiful college student was killed by excessive force by overzealous crowd control measures. People are stunned and shocked and dismayed. It feels so reminiscent of Kent State in 1970 to me.

The newspaper pieces kept referring to the pepper balls as non-lethal weapons and less-than-lethal weapons, but i wonder what they were thinking???

It is so very tragic and unncessary and heartbreaking.

love and peace,
joyce

Love, sam

This looks useful, thank you. Will try it at home.

Speaking of photos (you two were), when last we heard from her, our intrepid girl photographer had been questioned by the gendarmes for photographing the reflection in a bank's windows.

Her saga continues, as she was given a stern talking to after taking photos here near Boston. Seems as though, as it was explained, it is forbidden, prohibited, not allowed, impermissible to take pictures of "MBTA property" - a euphemism for a city bus!

Well, judge for yourself if said photos look illegal.

Happy Friday everyone.

love,

joyce
