This is a great use of wikinews, imo. We have an event that is newsworthy and covering it like a news story works. 
 
I'm pleased to see that wikipedia has altered their focus to permit the sort of material that they would not have permitted in the past - "news" can be leading edge in ways their earlier standards would not allow. It is a win for tmxxine and projex and curl and asq, imo.

Well when we went on wikipedia - we knew we would be pushing the boundaries
- many of our pages were removed - first from wikipedia - then tmxxine user - then wiki books
- however the material was made into two websites
 
and freeware
alchemy
computer know how
curl
and some others remain on wikibooks
 
on wikipedia
the  page on Puppy Linux is the only one I remember doing

They did tend to be very strict... But if they are going to be a respectible news media organization, they will have to deal with things like 'press releases' announcing events and products...
They had the audacity to delete my photo of belladonna/deadly nightshade. They claimed it wasn't that plant at all... But they kept the magnolias.
What do you think about including your ALMS program somewhere in the agenda for the internet retreat? ALMS certainly induces peace.
