Hi ,

Do you use an office suite?

I rarely use even a WP any more - in fact I am campaigning for
web based word processors (wiki might develop in this way)

Spreadsheet? Hardly ever . . .

Some of you will and you need a free one

Open Office is the best and version 1.1.4 has been release - it is a 65 meg
download though :-(

I find it stable and works the way I expect - whenever I need to
There is also a Swahili version

The database capacity is limited but for version 2 they will
have a rather good one - if all goes to plan (what plan is that?)

I keep saying this
use what works - across Mac, Linux and Windows
what is simple, open and free

If you are not using Open Office
you are probably using a pirated version of MS Office?

MS Office is very good - Excel is MS best product
(or am I out of date?)
but Office is bloated, expensive - could be dropped (for new Longhorn Office)
and is not on Linux
- it has numerous non essential 'features'

What is wrong with Open Office?
For me - no database (yet)
and the graphics though impressive is not as simple as
it should be.

The WP, Impress presentation packages and spreadsheet are fine. Very usuable.
Very good.

Glad to see ts is really bcoming a wiki technician - some of the new B & W pics
are wonderful
I liked the warming hands - black and white (almost)

Yesterday I was watching a heron, teal (UK's smallest duck) and being deafened
by the
greater spotted woodpecker (I was looking for parakeets - we have two local
flocks that I have seen)
As I am right next to Surrey (home of the Surrey Puma) maybe I should go find
it? LOL
